So, with tax refunds all in and me with more money than I know what to do with (I also have a supermodel girlfriend and a '57 Corvette in this fantasyland), I'm all reved up to buy some stuff. Isn't consumerism grand? Oh, the choices...
First and foremost is the one I've fought with the longest, the Tivo. These are overwhelmingly cool, and I've never heard of a Tivo owner who wouldn't swear it was God's gift to TV.
The Pros:
Next on the list is a new universal remote. I have a cheap one that doesn't really support all my gear, and the memory's already full, with bare-bones support for all of my equipment. A nice Pronto-based device could really make my life on the couch that much easier.
The Pros:
Also on the list is an Xbox. I've resisted the urge for sooo long, not wanting to cave to Bill's fledgling gaming empire.
The Pros:
The Cons
That's my short list. There are a million other things I've got my eye on, but those are the frontrunners. In all likelihood, I'll just hold off for bigger and better things, but I was out shopping all night with my friend who spent a small fortune on a plasma screen, so I feel like less of a man now, and I need to buy something that runs on electricity.
